MEET HIM IN THE CLOUD
Some of our novices were blessed to join the AEYG + CF (ASCLA EAST YOUTH GATHERING + CLARETIAN FAMILY last August 3-8, 2015 at the CLARET RETREAT HOUSE, QUEZON CITY PHILIPPINES.
Below are some of their insights which they would like to share with us all.
The
AEYG 2015 + Claretian family gathering was held on August 3 to 8, 2015 in
Guezon City, Philippines. We gathered from Korea, Timor Leste, Indonesia,
Hongkong, Taiwan, China, Japan, India, Mexico, Vietnam, Srilanka, and
Philippines. I was so glad that I have
been sent by our community as representative of Srilanka. It was for me a great
opportunity to experience the love of God & the sharing experiences with the
youth and evangelization in this 21st century. Our theme was “MEET
HIM IN THE CLOUD” it is rooted in the Gospel of Matthew 17: 1-9, the story of
the Transfiguration of our Lord. The main objectives are to discover the
presence of Jesus and to present Him to the youth through information
technology and communications. It was to discover the evangelization of the
youth as Claretian family and to learn and find Jesus in the cloud.
First
of all as a Novice I was inspired by the theme of our gathering. And then it was an enriched moment to be united
with the youth from different delegations of various countries. It was an
experience as young Claretian to be one family. Through our personal &
group sharing I came to realized little more deeply of my characters and as
well as the reality of the present world
& mission of youth today. It was a wonderful chance to go beyond from
selfie to goofier and to community. We the young people in this millennium
world are experiencing the kind of virus that threatens the life of our faith.
Those virus namely materialism, consumerism, self-cantered attributes, vanity,
and sensual pleasure of the world. These are the clouds that hindered from the
invitation of Jesus to know Him deeply. Once we met in the same cloud He changes
our life to be children of Him. For us we are already children of God through
sacrament of Baptism there for we renewed our faith. And also our faith
strengthens by every day Eucharistic celebration.
Through the performances
of different countries I realized the love of God and His beauty that spread in
the uniqueness of different persons. Finally this youth gathering was more
essential for me to live, go, grow and glow the glory of our God personally and
in community life and in my mission.

What is AEYG 2015 +CF?
: A is
for “ASCLA(Association of Claretians in Asia)”
E stands for “EAST” that indicates
the Eastern Conference of ASCLA where and who organized the gathering.
Y stands for the word “YOUTH” who
are the main participants of the gathering.
G is for “Gathering”
2015 indicates the year the
gathering is taking place.
CF stands for “Claretian Family”
The theme of AEYG 2015 +CF is “Meet
Him in the Cloud.” It is rooted in the Gospel of Matthew 17:1-19, the story of
the Transfiguration of the Lord of which feast falls on the 6th of
August.
My reflection about AEYG 2015+CF
: As participating this gathering, I could
learn many things through the activities, the apps and the sharing the thoughts
and ideas from different countries. Also it was very good to see and to feel
the energies of the Asian youth and the love of the Church and the love of
Jesus Christ. Personally, most impressive thing was the theme “Meet Him in the
Cloud”. While the programs were progressed, the participants had to use the
internet and the social network such as Facebook
in every activity. Nowadays using the social network is the very necessary and
core among the young to communicate with the others because it is convenient
and easy. But in other hands, it causes many problems and has side effects. So I
used to avoid using the social network. But through the programs and group
activities, it changed my perspective of the internet and the social network. There
is nothing only good method or bad method. It depends on the person who is
going to use and how he or she is going to use. So if we use the internet to
proclaim the Gospel and to share the Christian love with the others, we can
build another kingdom of God on the Internet. It can be the one of the massive
method of mission to spread the Good news. So through the variety of activities,
I and the participants could learn how to follow Jesus Christ and how to
participate to build the Kingdom of God on the Internet and in our reality.

MY
FEELINGS IN MEETING HIM ON THE CLOUD
Claretian
Family
I am
Tran Thi Huong, I am from Religious of Mary Immaculate Claretian Missionary
Sisters, and I am a member of AEYG. Before coming to share my feelings in
meeting Him in the cloud I would like to introduce and make known what is AEYG
2015 + CF means. A is for “ASCLA” which means Association of Claretian in Asia.
E stands for “EAST” that indicates the Eastern Conference of Association of
Claretian in Asia where and who organized the gathering, Y stands for the word
“YOUTH” who are the main
participants of the gathering, G is for “GARTHERING” and 2015 indicates the year the gathering is taking place. The
cross (+) represents Jesus Christ
with symbol of “PLUS”
In the
beginning of this encountering, I was so excited on what and how to “meet Him
in the cloud”. At the same time, I was wondering on what and how to “meet Him
in the cloud”? However, along the way of
walking in the clouds I have seen on how and what to “meet Him in the cloud”.
I am so happy and thankful to be a member of
AEYG; AEYG brought me with a warm atmosphere of family from different branches
of the Claretian Family. Moreover, it opened my physical and spiritual eyes to
see the different visions and uniqueness of each country of the Claretian
Family in Asia. During 5 days of AEYG helped me not only to meet Jesus in the
cloud but also to meet different faces of Jesus in the presence of participants
of the Claretian Family in Asia. Through meeting and encountering with
different faces of Jesus in the presence of participants of the Claretian
Family helped me to realize the presence, the actions, and the words of Jesus
within the different people of the Claretian Family in Asia. On the other hand,
it helped to me to value and to learn whatever from this AEYG in order for me
to know how to share and to help others continue bringing Jesus to the other
generations and it also helped know how to bring and make known Jesus to the
young generations through information technology and communications to this
modern world.
