Created in 1985 by Pope John Paul II, World Youth Day is a massive gathering of young people from all over the world promoted by the Catholic Church, a grand festivity of faith celebrating the joy of the personal encounter of young people with Christ, gathered around his Vicar on earth, the POPE.
